Be Well Hospitals

In a country like India, the load on tertiary health services can be reduced by strengthening the secondary level care health services. And especially for non-metropolitan cities and rural areas, the focus should be on community health centers and for urban regions – peripheral hospitals at the secondary level. This will not only reduce the workload on tertiary care, but also will better the overall healthcare setup. Thus, shining a bright spotlight on one of the upcoming brands who is redefining secondary health care services by providing non-compromised, evidence-based healthcare, Be Well Hospitals is a chain of “Small Giant” Multispeciality hospitals.

Operating with their world-class infrastructure in locations that currently have limited access to healthcare, Be Well is creating the most innovative healthcare infrastructure for small towns in India. The hospital chain has been spreading health awareness in engaging ways that has resulted in the shift of the community focus from “Get Well” to “Be Well”.

Through a brief Q & A session with Dr. C.J. Vetrievel, the Founder & CMD of Be Well, important questions pertaining to today’s time were posed at him, where he touched upon how Be Well is focusing towards becoming a national healthcare brand and a renowned Secondary Healthcare Provider.

  • Accessibility, Affordability and Quality

Be Well Group of hospitals is establishing a new order of health care delivery to ensure accessible, affordable and quality care available to all. Be Well has been setting up the best hospitals in south India with world-class infrastructure in locations that currently have limited access to all-round healthcare. We have won the trust of our patients with our transparent pricing policy, ethical practices, right treatment recommendations and innovative patient education initiatives which has made “Be Well” a brand of trust & care.

We are establishing a unique healthcare model with just 50-75 bed facilities located in peri urban & district head quarter towns with accessibility being our clear focus. Because of our sheer efficiency and capital planning, we make sure that all the funds used in project planning is minimized and all the services are centralized. We also carry out central purchases of all the Pharmaceutical requirements. Also, looking at the secondary procedures, and the costs involved, currently we charge only 1/3rd of what is being charged in other renowned brands, absolutely with no compromises.

Furthermore, In India everyone wants to get services from bigger hospitals who charge enormous amounts for basic healthcare procedures, so in order to reverse the healthcare behavior of our country, we are aiming towards putting money back into the patients pocket through our calculated model.

  • Redefining Organizational Excellence

Be Well uses the latest infrastructure in terms of the operating theater and ICU setup. Be it the ventilator, Boyle’s Apparatus or the Radiology and Laboratory equipment, Be Well is at par when compared to our competitors. We also have the latest diagnostic equipment, from the Ultrasound to X Ray facilities, and since the day of our inception in 2011, we have established our brand across 11 locations in Tamil Nadu.

  • Preparedness during the Pandemic

Despite having a slow start during the first phase, our main objective was to keep the hospital open. With the risk factor affecting our staff members and doctors, we ended up having a detailed end-to-end discussion with our faculty and their immediate family members, in turn educating them on the usage of PPE Kits and motivating them to brave the situation. And once all the procedures became familiar, 70% of all the beds across the majority of our branches were converted into COVID wards, and we continued on our duties of giving back to society, in tune with each other and in-sync with the market trends and demands.

  • Faculty Hiring and Development

We have several inhouse doctors who are all MBBS and PG qualified. Apart from this we also have consulting doctors who have to fulfill all the requirements of our Credentialing Committee, including meeting the minimum demands of the set qualifications, clearing the registration verification process and showcasing their experience along with reference check. This selection procedure is tough, so only the best of doctors and healthcare staff end up joining Be Well.

Be Well boasts of an elaborate program called – Continuing Medical Education program, where every Saturday our own employee doctors are trained on different and varied topics, where attendance is mandatory. In the end a CME certificate is provided to all those who have undertaken this program, and based on the hours undertaken they get bonus points which influence their future appraisals

Targeted especially towards uplifting the confidence among our nurses, we have a training academy consisting of 4 full time nurse educators who undertake training of all the nurses. Most of the training programs are undertaken in a systematic manner, conducting pre and post tests. Improvement shown by nurses is documented regularly, and the test results help nurses in getting better appraisals and incentives.

  • Future is Bright

One idea of Be Well is to have enough network and our long term goal is to work towards establishing 50 hospitals across Tamil Nadu and then 500 hospitals across India. To speed up the process of ensuring easy access to quality and affordable healthcare, we are also using our expertise and experience to help others in India set up hospitals that meet high quality standards. We support several upcoming healthcare brands, right from evolving the concept to facilitating everyday operations, which is also one of our niches which we will be running in parallel in the near future.
