Shadanga Ayurveda

Rejuvenate, Restore & Rebalance

Ayurveda, the traditional system of medicine that originated in India thousands of years ago, has a vast scope and potential for promoting health and well-being. With its holistic approach and emphasis on natural healing, Ayurveda offers a comprehensive system of medicine that addresses not only the physical health but also the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of an individual. Ayurveda has been recognized and practiced in India for centuries, and it continues to play a significant role in the healthcare system of the country.

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in Ayurveda as people seek alternative and complementary forms of healthcare. As a result, Ayurvedic practices, remedies, and therapies have gained popularity not only in India but also globally for their effectiveness and safety.

Talking about one such initiative that has been driving the reach of Ayurveda to every home is Shadanga – Kerala’s Ayurveda. Shadanga, which means six limbs, is a unique Ayurvedic treatment program that combines six traditional Ayurvedic therapies to provide comprehensive health care. It focuses on preventive, promotive, and curative aspects of health and aims to make Ayurveda accessible and affordable to everyone.

Shadanga – Kerala’s Ayurveda was started with the vision of taking Ayurveda to every home in India. Through its specialized Ayurvedic treatments, wellness programs, Ayurvedic products and educational initiatives, Shadanga aims to create awareness about the benefits of Ayurveda and make it a part of the daily lifestyle of people. By offering authentic Ayurvedic treatments and therapies, Shadanga aims to promote holistic health and well-being among individuals and communities, and contribute to the wider scope and acceptance of Ayurveda in India.

Thus, to understand what Shadanga is all about, and what it looks forward to achieving in the years to come, in turn, contributing to the field of Ayurveda, we interviewed Dr. Archana Linto, the Founder and Clinical Director of Shadanga.

A brief overview into Shadanga Kerala’s Ayurveda

As per the ancient Ayurveda classics, the human body is categorized into six major parts known as Shadanga, which translates to “six parts” in literal terms. These include two upper limbs, two lower limbs, the head, and the trunk. The aim of Shadanga Ayurveda is to provide solutions for ailments related to these six divisions of the body by compiling treatment protocols based on Kerala’s Ayurveda, which is heavily influenced by ShadUpkrama, a concept of six types of healing techniques explained in Ayurveda. Shadanga Ayurveda has developed scientific protocols through years of research and clinical practice to implement ShadUpkrama effectively based on current requirements. Panchakarma is the most popular treatment modality among ShadUpkrama due to its complete detoxification powers to eradicate root-cause of any disease.

The inception of Shadanga – Kerala’s Ayurveda was driven by the mission to make Ayurveda accessible to every home and help people lead a happy and healthy life. Also, Shadanga is an Ayurvedic treatment and rehabilitation center that blends the ancient art of Ayurveda with modern comfort, without compromising on quality. “We operate an ideal destination for those seeking holistic healing, rejuvenation and a complete transformation in their lives”, shared – Dr. Archana Linto.

Please talk about the various services offered

While Ayurveda may have limitations in emergency management and tertiary care services, it has proven to be an efficient system of medicine in managing and treating non-communicable diseases, lifestyle disorders, and psychosomatic diseases. Shadanga – Kerala’s Ayurveda specializes in neuromuscular diseases, degenerative conditions, and lifestyle disorders and its treatments covers a wide spectrum of diseases including Arthritis, Rheumatism, Spine issues, Muscular dystrophy, Diabetes, Hypertension, COPD, Hormonal Imbalance, PCOD, Auto-immune diseases, Obesity, Spine care, Skin care, Panchakarma Detox, and Neuro-muscular rehab services.

In addition to clinical services, Shadanga – Kerala’s Ayurveda also offers Ayurvedic Diet Consultations, Prakriti Analysis (assessment of body constitution), Wellness Counseling, Ayurveda & Yoga training programs, Ayurvedic products, Ayurvedic food (Cloud Kitchen services) and Franchise & consultancy services to open up Ayurvedic treatment centers, clinics, hospitals & retreats in India and abroad.

What about the home Ayurvedic Services offered?

Shadanga – Kerala’s Ayurveda offers the convenience of online booking through our portal, allowing customers to easily schedule services and have them delivered by qualified Ayurveda therapists at the closest available outlet in their location. These services are provided under the supervision of doctors, ensuring safe and effective treatments.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Shadanga – Kerala’s Ayurveda has also introduced a special service called “Ayurvedic Treatments at Home” to cater to the needs of senior citizens and bedridden patients. This service allows them to receive their prescribed Ayurvedic treatments in the comfort of their own homes, providing convenience and care during these challenging times. This initiative reflects Shadanga’s commitment to ensuring that all individuals, including those who may have limited mobility or difficulty in accessing the clinic, can still receive the benefits of Ayurveda in the comfort of their home.

By providing online booking and home-based services, Shadanga – Kerala’s Ayurveda aims to make Ayurvedic treatments more accessible and convenient for their customers, while ensuring safety and quality under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals.

What are the various training programs offered at your facility?

Plans going down the lane

We have a well-established service delivery network in South Delhi and Gurgaon, and our plan is to expand our systems for faster service delivery in other areas of Delhi NCR in the next phase. We are also considering a plug-and-play model that can be replicated in Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities across India within 3 years. Additionally, we are exploring opportunities to develop other scalable health-related offerings, such as an Ayurveda Kitchen that can provide Ayurvedic Healing Food delivered to doorsteps using the same platform.

Also, our R&D team is working on expanding our products line from 50 SKUs to 500 SKUs in 5years by adding more products in proprietary range to attend wide spectrum of health issues and also other categories including OTC products, Classical Products and herbal cosmetics.

As a non-techy entrepreneur, I have realized that technology development can be costly and time-consuming. As our startup is currently bootstrapped, we may seek funding to develop a comprehensive technological product to further scale up our operations in the next phase.
