Xiaomi announces super-fast 80W wireless charging tech
Xiaomi has announced its latest wireless charging technology which appears to be faster than most conventional wired charging technologies around right now. In line with leaks and rumours, Xiaomi has gone ahead and officially announced its latest wireless charging technology, which is rated to provide 80W charging to supported devices.
With the announcement, this has become the world’s fastest wireless charging, which is much faster than what competing players are offering at the moment. As per Xiaomi, the wireless charging technology can charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 19.
Over the last few months, Xioami has been upping the game in the wireless charging space, with Mi 10 Ultra previously announced with support for 50W fast charging, with the company also showing off a 40W wireless charging technology shortly before that. However, this new technology could be a real game-changer as it is super-fast and could replace many of the fastest wired charging technologies.
Apart from the work, it is putting into building wireless charging technologies, Xiaomi is also putting in effort into creating a new wired fast charging standard that could provide more than 120W charge to phones — something that’s already found on the Mi 10 Ultra. This technology is expected to be available in the company’s next-generation flagship smartphone and could be made official before the launch of the phone.
The announcement of the new wireless charging standard is just the latest in the line of announcements around the technology. IN March 2020, Xiaomi introduced to the world 40W wireless charging, in August that record was broken by Xiaomi’s first mass-produced 50W wireless charging technology, only now to be broken again with 80W Mi Wireless Charging Technology.
