Airlines protest against Adani-owned Ahmedabad airport plan to hike fees for charter aircraft during World Cup
Airlines are outraged by Adani group-owned Ahmedabad airport’s proposal to sharply raise user charges for charter flights during the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup.
Major airlines are protesting against the Adani group-owned Ahmedabad airport’s plan to increase user charges for charter flights during the ICC Cricket World Cup. The airport has raised ground handling charges by more than 10 times, prompting airlines to seek government intervention. The Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has issued a notice stating that levying charges not approved by the authority is illegal. AERA has also summoned the top management of the airport to discuss the issue. Airlines argue that such a sudden increase in charges will make charter operations financially unviable.
