The Indian airbag industry is primed for a boost as fresh capacity comes on stream to meet the demand that will be created by the six-airbags-per car rule that’s set to be implemented. Added to this, safety concerns have been heightened after the death of former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry in a car crash.
Capacity will surge to about 25 million units from the current 5-6 million, which will create an industry of about $1.25
