India to make Range Rover for the first time, Delivery already commenced
India is going to make history by being the first nation since 1970 to produce fully knocked down (CKD) versions of the “flagship” Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles outside of Solihull, England.
Senior officials of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India, a division of Tata Motors, stated that prices will drop by 18–22% as a result of the CKD units imported from the UK and manufactured in India.
Range Rover Sport deliveries will commence on August 16; locally made Range Rover deliveries began on Friday. The Range Rover Velar, Evoque, Jaguar F-PACE, and Discovery Sport are already produced at JLR’s Pune plant.
