Bullet Train with over 250 km/hr speed now a Indian reality in the making
According to people with knowledge of the matter, the railroads have given state-owned Integral Coach Factory (ICF) the job of producing two standard-gauge bullet trains domestically this fiscal year after negotiations with Japanese suppliers broke down over pricing.
“It is being built on the Vande Bharat platform that can already clock a maximum speed of 220 kmph,” added the official.
The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) of Indian Railways in Chennai is preparing the designs.
High-speed trains, like the Japanese Shinkansen and the French TGV, operate at speeds above 250 kmph worldwide.
India is depending on Japanese technology to power the bullet trains that will travel on the newly constructed route from Ahmedabad to Mumbai.
