Cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan is all set to introduce his cold drink brand in India with a manufacturing unit in Karnataka
Legendary cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka met with Industries Minister MB Patil on Tuesday to discuss his intentions to increase capital expenditures in his soft drink production facility located in the Badanaguppe industrial region of Chamarajanagar.
According to an official release from the industries department, Muralitharan, who now owns a soft drink company in his home country, is growing his business with a greenfield plant in Chamarajanagar district at an investment of Rs 1000 crore. The statement further stated that the former cricket star informed the minister he was still committed to his beverage can manufacturing project in Dharwad.
According to the statement, the former cricket player turned businessman now wished to increase his investments in the Chamarajanagar facility to Rs 1400 crore. Organizing the meeting with representatives from the Industries department was the main goal on Tuesday.
