India is so popular for its rich culture and has always been an attractive spot for traveller’s across the world. India is also known as a tourist’s paradise. Yet, there are a few problems tourist’s face while travelling in India. Language is one of the most common barriers among the tourist’s travelling to India from different countries or cities. Such tourists face a lot of challenges expressing themselves in a language they barely know or understand. In such cases, knowing English is not always helpful. Not only language but also issues like cleanliness and hygiene, transportation and safety etc. are dragging the name of Indian Tourism to the dust. Due to such issues India has lost many of its foreign tourists.
In order to reestablish India as a Tourist’s paraside the government must advertise India’s diversity and rich heritage. India is a country, which may have branched out to modernism, however, its roots are deep set in traditions and culture. Foreign tourists appreciate these traditions a lot.
One of the biggest reasons why foreign tourists avoid visiting India is because they are concerned about their safety in the country. There have been instances when foreign nationals have faced harassment but couldn’t acquire help from the locals due to communication problems. Therefore, the government should consider this issue seriously and must ensure the utmost safety of not only foreign tourists but also the local tourists so that they won’t feel harassed in any way. The government must also enforce stringent laws to punish the perpetrators.
Appointment of trained tourists guides by the government will benefit tourists as there will be lesser chances of getting duped by frauds. Taking these and more such precautions for the interests of foreign tourists are sure to attract them towards India.
